Now, the magic of this world is caused by the help of Runes. So In order to use Magic, one must have a rune attached to their Right hand, left hand, or forehead. Runes can be removed and attached by Rune masters.
Blinking Rune.
Good for teleporitng.
The Blinking Rune creates magic spells that allow the bearer to teleport themselves, others, and inanimate objects, across a wide area. This Rune has most notably been used by the magician, Viki, in many wars over the entire World, transporting parties of people to key destinations. This Rune does have negative effects, too, however. It can be very inaccurate, sometimes teleporting the wrong people, or teleporting to a wrong location. Whether this is solely because of Viki’s behaviour or a property of the Rune, it is unsure. Regardless, this is a very useful, and strategic, ability, and has been sought by many. There are no records of anyone else using it’s power, but there have been events where the Blinking Rune has been found in the wild.
Fire Rune
Good offencive magic.
The Fire Rune is the spawn of the True Fire Rune, and one of the most common Runes to be found. It utilises one of the Powers of the world, using it to create fire. The Rune creates spells that focus on dealing fire damage to groups of enemies. It is descended from the True Fire Rune, and shares many of the same spells and attributes as it’s senior Rune. As an elemental Rune, the Fire Rune is naturally weakened by the power of the Water Rune, and is overcomes the power of the Wind Rune. The Higher Order of the Fire Rune is the Rage Rune. As such, it is able to cast more potent spells than the Fire Rune at a lesser cost to the bearer.
Earth Rune
Good defensive magic.
The Earth Rune is a Rune that has been spawned off from the True Earth Rune. It can be found plentifully, and is quite cheap compared to many Runes. It utilises one of the Five Powers of the World, created Earth magic. This rune focuses on defensive or support magic, using the power of rocks and land to absorb damage being dealt to one who is protected by the Rune’s power. The Earth Rune is naturally weakened by the Wind Rune, but overcomes the Lightning Rune. The Higher Order of the Earth Rune is the Mother Earth Rune.
Lighting Rune
Good for offencive magic
The Lightning Rune is spawned from the True Lightning Rune, and is a common Rune. It utilises one of the Five Powers of the World to produce Lightning spells. This Rune focuses on attacking single enemies. The names of these spells differ depending on the region, yet their effects remain constant. It is naturally weakened by the Earth Rune, but overcomes the Water Rune. The Higher Order of the Lightning Rune is the Thunder Rune
Shield Rune
Good healing rune
The Shield Rune is spawned from the Bright Shield Rune, and retains many of it’s properties and spells. It uses solely support spells, to aid other characters in doing harm to foes. Many bodyguards and guardians use this Rune, to help protect their masters from beasts who would them wrongs.
Pale Gate Rune
Good Summoning rune
The Pale Gate Rune is a magic Rune, which is descended from the Gate Rune. Like its True Rune counterpart, it uses Summoning Magic as its spells. This Rune is associated with powerful magicians, for it can only be attached to the mage’s forehead. One can always distinguish a mage of great power by the Rune’s distinctive shape on their head, for all the notable mages of past wars have all held this Rune.
Wind Rune
Good offencive and defencive magic.
The Wind Rune is descended from the True Wind Rune, and is not as rare as some Runes. They can usually be bought in any Runeshop, as they are quite common. This Rune embodies one of the five powers of the world that make up all matter. The Wind Rune spells are both used for support and for attack, and are mostly ignored because it doesn’t really succeed at any. Since it is an elemental Rune, the Fire Rune naturally weakens the Wind Rune, but it overcomes the power of the Earth Rune. The Higher Order of the Wind Rune is the Cyclone Rune, lessening the difficulty of using the Rune.
Water Rune
Good defensive and healing.
The Water Rune is descended from the True Water Rune, and can be found quite easily, out in the wilderness or in shops. It utilises one of the Five Powers, to summon water to heal wounds, support allies, and attack. It is much more adept at healing over all else, however. It is naturally weakened by the Lightning Rune, but is more potent against the Fire Rune. The Higher Order of the Water Rune is the Flowing Rune.
